The world of politics could be changing soon in New York. A founder of the Hip Hop Union is pushing for a new political campaign.
Jineea Butler is a congressional candidate running as a Republican. Butler founded the Hip Hop Union and is hoping to start a new political line. Butler is calling the line the New American Party. She also hopes the party can field candidates for the upcoming elections.
According to Butler, she spoke to Busta Rhymes about running for Governor. However, Busta hasn’t committed to running for office. Butler said she also hoped to speak with LL Cool J about running for political office. LL still has yet to speak with Butler about the opportunity. Will Hip-Hop see its first political candidates in the near future? This question remains to be answered and possibly, maybe, very soon.
