The much publicized 11th album DJ Khaled failed to reach the N0.1 Spot on the Billboard Top 100 Chart. And the “Father of Asahd” does not take this lightly as he has threatened to sue the organisation.
The album “Father of Asahd which was highly rated by critics alike with long list of heavy weight, superstar features and collabos including the late Nipsey Hussle, Cardi B, Chris Brown, 21 Savage and more, failed the number 1 spot, sitting at N0. 2 right behind Tyler, the Creator’s “IGOR,”
Why Did DJ Khaled’s Father of Asahd missed the N0.1 Spot on Billboard Hot 100?
Judging by the amount of works and commitment put into this album by DJ Khaled, one might be forced to kind of sympathize with “Father of Asad” for not making it to N0.1.
The one specific reason so far for this shortfall, was that, Billboard themselves has disqualified or rejected more than 100,000 downloads of the album which was bundled-up with an energy drinks merchandise sales. This practice is not unique only to this album, but the Organisation overseeing the Billboard Chart has not totally approve of it as they kind of prefer pure album sales to bundles with other products which actually influences the sales.
Report has it that although Tyler The Creator who took the number spot as at when Billboard announced the Chart, also has some of his sales as Merch bundles. But Billboard, argue that there were some mistakes in DJ Khaled’s data based on chart rules.
DJ Khaled has being at loggerheads with his record label executives including Sylvia Rhone, chairman and CEO over this issue accusing them of not taking necessary steps to deal with the Billboard Committee on this matter. Meanwhile his lawyer was said to have fired the first shot by sending a letter to the Billboard committee on their intention to take this matter to court should there be no reversal of this chart position in favor of DJ Khaled.
